Pretty and Polished Jawbreaker

Pretty and Polished Jawbreaker is such an amazing nail polish! It looks exactly like it's name describes.
I remember when I was a child, I would get the jawbreakers that were the size of a tennis ball and I would keep it for several weeks. I would lick it until my tongue was raw. They were just the best candy ever because they lasted forever.

The first time I saw a picture of this polish, I loved it. I was able to get myself a bottle during P&P's last etsy restock. (You can find her store here!)

This is two coats. It applies surprisingly well for a white polish. I didn't have any problems with streaking and the glitters seem to lay themselves out evenly without having to "push" them around. Normally I'm not a fan of bar glitter but the bars in this are small so they're not a problem.

Essie Barefoot in Blue

Essie Barefoot in Blue. Another blue!! This polish was a freebie with the Toms shoes giveaway this year. I wore this one last week. The color is a really nice cornflower blue with just a pinch of purple to it. Formula was great on this one! Two easy coats.
Essie has one of my favorite brushes, it just fits my nails perfectly and makes application very easy.
I'm actually forcing myself to take polishes that aren't blue with my on my vacation (okay, maybe one or two, but that's it! I couldn't help myself!) so hopefully I'll have some fun colors to show you when I get back.

**This is a scheduled post. I'm on vacation this week. I'll talk to you all when I get back!

GOSH Blue Monday

GOSH Blue Monday. How fitting since this is a blue polish and it's Monday! Woo!
I've been stuck in a blue vortex lately and I can't seem to get out. Every time I open up my helmer all I can seem to reach for is blue polishes.

This is my first GOSH polish and I really like it. The brush was good. It fit my nails very nicely. This is three coats.

Here it is in the sunshine. My camera freaked out a bit because this polish was very sparkly once the sun hit it. There are some purple shimmers in here as well but my camera couldn't pick it up.

China Glaze Splish Splash

The China Glaze Summer Neons collection is, in my opinion, the best neon collection ever. Neons can tend to be a bit chalky and dull looking but the shimmers in this collection really help the colors sparkle. Today I'm wearing Splish Splash.

I'm not sure I would technically describe this color as neon but it is very vibrant. The formula was fantastic! This is two coats. It applied wonderfully and I barely needed any cleanup. I think this polish might make it's way into my Top 20!

Jelly Sandwich!

This is my first jelly sandwich ever! I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I started with 3 coats of Verity Deep Violet, then added 1 coat of WnW Back Alley Deals, and then used 1 coat of Max Factor Fantasy Fire.
I'm in love! This is my favorite mani that I've ever done! It just glows!
These pictures were taken indoors next to a window since it was raining outside when I put this on. I can't wait to see what it looks like in the sunlight!

Nails Inc Baker Street

No joke, Nails Inc Baker Street is the best blue ever made. I'm so in love with this polish!
I don't even know what to say about this other than it's perfect and everyone needs this! Everything about it is amazing (can you tell I like this polish?).
Formula was very nice. This is one coat! I liked the brush too. This is my first Nails Inc polish and I've got to say, I'm extremely impressed! I need to get a few more of these in my collection. I'm so happy that they're easier to buy now that Sephora carries them. I just wish that I had a Sephora closer to my house so that I didn't have to order these online and pay shipping!

This isn't 100% color accurate because my camera had a hard time capturing this polish. It's a bit darker in real life, but still very vibrant. It's so hard to describe. It is fairly close to this swatch though, think of it just as a bit more saturated.

Baker Street is a core color but Nails Inc released a limited edition crystal cap version of Baker Street. The Crystal Colour Baker Street is currently on sale at Sephora for $10 (only $.50 more than the plain bottle!). They still have it in stock if you want to get in on this deal. Normally the crystal caps retail for $19.50. Here's a link to the crystal cap.

Isn't it beautiful?! I've always wanted one of the Crystal Colour polishes but I couldn't justify the cost. So when I saw Baker Street on sale for $10 I knew I couldn't pass up the deal.

Striped Tape Tutorial

Here's a quick tutorial for you to show you how I created my taped manicure from the other day. It's very simple but creates a really fun look.

1. Start by painting your nails with the color that you want your stripes to be. Make sure your polish is completely dry before you start. I was working with a day old mani but you could apply a quick dry top coat to freshly painted nails and wait about 30 min-1 hour or until your nails are fully dry. (This is China Glaze For Audrey)

2. Apply the tape where you want your stripes to be. I used striping tape (I bought mine off of Amazon) but you can use regular scotch tape or painters tape. Remember the order in which you placed the tape down. This will prevent you from messing up your nails if any of your pieces of tape overlap.

3. Paint over the tape. It's best to use a polish that can be opaque in one coat. (This is China Glaze Electric Beat)

4. Pull the tape up gently while the polish is still wet. Don't wait too long or the polish will become tacky as it starts to dry and it might cause your lines to get messed up.

5. If you need to, clean up around your nails with nail polish remover. Apply your favorite topcoat. You may need more than one coat since your polish will be slightly bumpy where the stripes are. Enjoy!

Nostalgic Nail Lacquer Duckie + Barry M Mint Green

Nostalgic Duckie is a glitter polish in a sheer milky base. You can wear it alone but I prefer to layer it over a complimenting color. I think it's too sheer by itself but I know some people like that look. I've been in love with milky glitters for the past few months and I'm happy to have this polish in my collection. I managed to snag this and Blane during one of Nostalgic's sales.
I love the colors and sizes of the glitters. My only complaint about this polish is that there aren't enough glitters in it (despite how it looks in these pictures). I know it's meant to be sparse but this was just a little too sparse. I had to fish around to get some glitters out. This is two slightly thick coats over Barry M Mint Green.

Here's Barry M Mint Green by itself. Mint green is one of my favorite colors of nail polish. It's just a very calming color for me to look at. This polish leans more blue than any of the other mints in my collection. I don't have anything else similar. Application was wonderful.

Taped Mani

Not much chatter today but I wanted to show you what I'm wearing on my nails. I haven't worn a tape mani in forever! I need to do these more often, they're really fun!
The colors I used are China Glaze For Audrey and Electric Beat (from Electropop).

Essence A Lovely Secret

Essence A Lovely Secret
I'm not sure how to describe this color. Sometimes it looks like a pastel lavender and other times it looks periwinkle. Either way, the color is very nice.
Not going to lie, when I applied this I was a little disappointed. What originally drew me to this polish was all of the shimmer you can see in the bottle. When I put in on my nails though, the shimmers disappeared. It makes the polish look speckled, which is pretty cool just not what I was expecting when I bought it.
Application was very nice. I really like the brush on the Essence bottles. It fit my nails very nicely. I barely had any cleanup to do.
