Essence Date In The Moonlight Dotticure

Can you believe it's already October?! Where has the year gone?
I had a great birthday weekend. I went home to see my family which was really nice. I hadn't seen them in a month and I missed them. I got to see my cute little furball too! My parents and I went down to a bike ride near the coast for the Wounded Warrior foundation. That's the second year that we've attended that ride and it was really nice. The weather couldn't have been any better and we had an awesome tail wind on the last few miles! Woo!

I went to an Ulta the other day (there's none close to me) and I finally was able to pick up some of the new Essence polishes. I don't really care for the new bottle shape but I'm glad that it has a few more mLs in it!
I got four of the new ones: Date In The Moonlight, Off To Miami, Oh My Glitter!, and Grey-t To Be Here. And then I also picked up a bottle of Essie Orange, It's Obvious because I've been searching for a good orange for a while now and that one seemed to fit the bill pretty well. Plus it was on clearance.

So today I've got Date In The Moonlight to show you.
It is a dark navy with blue and green shimmers in it. The shimmers are very pretty but they're only visible in certain lights. Bummer. But I was expecting it so it's not really a negative. I used two coats for full opacity. The brush sucked pretty hard. I'm hoping it was just a one off and the other brushes won't be as bad.

Then, since it's October and I wanted to be a little festive, I decided to add some orange dots. I used Essie Orange, It's Obvious. Then to add just a little bit more contrast I added a few smaller grey dots. I used Essence Grey-t To Be Here.

HARE Magic Mist

A few weeks ago, Nikole started pre-orders for her new Spring and Summer collections. I picked up three of the polishes: Magic Mist, Rad Cloud, and Why So Igneous?. They arrived in the mail last week and I decided to wear Magic Mist first since it was the one I was most excited for.
I'm so impressed with this polish! Hare is one of my favorite Indie polish lines and Nikole never fails to impress me with her creations.

This is the first time in about 3 months that I've worn a glitter polish and didn't want to take it off right away.
I really love the color combo of the glitters. There's small orange hexes, small blue squares, small purple hexes, medium magenta squares, and then micro purple glitters. I love orange mixed with purple and blue!

I didn't have any problems with application. The glitters are dense enough that you only need one coat. It's also very easy to apply and you don't have to "push" the glitters into place to get an even look. The glitters lie very smoothly on the nails as well. I've got one super thin coat of gelous (literally, my bottle has about 50% thinner and 50% gelous because it takes forever to dry on my nails otherwise) and then one coat of SH Insta-Dri and it's perfectly smooth!

I layered it over Essence A Lovely Secret .

Essence A Lovely Secret

Essence A Lovely Secret
I'm not sure how to describe this color. Sometimes it looks like a pastel lavender and other times it looks periwinkle. Either way, the color is very nice.
Not going to lie, when I applied this I was a little disappointed. What originally drew me to this polish was all of the shimmer you can see in the bottle. When I put in on my nails though, the shimmers disappeared. It makes the polish look speckled, which is pretty cool just not what I was expecting when I bought it.
Application was very nice. I really like the brush on the Essence bottles. It fit my nails very nicely. I barely had any cleanup to do.
